Howard Wasdin is a former SEAL Team Six member. After graduating with BUD/S Class 143 he was a top sniper on SEAL Team Six. He was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart for his involvement in the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 known as Black Hawk Down. In that conflict he was wounded three times and nearly lost a leg. Howard served in the US Navy for twelve years before retiring due to injuries sustained in Somalia. He now lives in Georgia, where he is a practicing Chiropractor and a leader in his community. He has been awarded an Honor and induction into The Jeremiah Milbank Society by the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America. This award was given for his contributions and "making a difference" at the Boys and Girls Club in his hometown. In addition to treating more than 150 patients a week in his Chiropractic clinic, Wasdin is a Professional Speaker and presents nationally on many topics to include motivational, team building, mentorship, leadership, and overcoming adversity.
Howard Wasdin is a former SEAL Team Six member. After graduating with BUD/S Class 143, he later became a top sniper with SEAL Team Six. For his actions in "Operation Gothic Serpent" in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993, he was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States, and the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in action. In that conflict he was wounded three times and nearly lost his right leg.
Howard served in the US Navy for twelve years, nine of which were as part of the SEAL Teams. After twelve years, he was medically discharged due to the injuries he sustained in Mogadishu. The Somalia conflict would later become more commonly known as "Black Hawk Down", nick-named after the story depicted by Mark Bowden in his book and movie of the same name.
Howard now lives in Georgia, where he is a practicing Chiropractic. Given his military background, personal childhood experiences, personal mentors, and upbringing, he also is a leader in his community focusing his efforts on worthy causes that encourage and promote children and teen education and personal development, such as the "Boys and Girls Club". In 2012, he was inducted into "The Jeremiah Milbank Society" by the National "Boys and Girls Clubs of America". This award was given for his contributions and for "making a difference" at the Boys and Girls Club in his hometown.
As a Chiropractor and SEAL perfectionist, Howard seeks the advancement of his profession. Howard was inspired to become a chiropractor by a South Florida chiropractor who changed his quality of life through chiropractic adjustments which allowed him to sleep through the night, something he had not done in several years. Howard speaks to State and National Chiropractic organizations and colleges on advancing the Chiropractic profession and image. He also speaks on his published paper and personal chiropractic findings regarding resolution of migraine headaches in patients.
