- Random Act of Mendez: How We Are All Connected in Civil Rights History
2017 marks the 70-year anniversary of Mendez v. Westminster, the 1947 OC civil rights case that helped make California the first state to end school segregation, paving the way to Brown v. Board of Education seven years later. Most folks don't know about Mendez and how we are all connected in American civil rights history, but that's about to change. A new tradition called Random Act of Mendez will be launching during Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate the Mendez history. - Personal and Community Change-Making
In this address, Sandra will discuss how we can develop ways to continue to grow together through personal and community empowerment to successfully challenge bigotry, discrimination, and prejudice in all forms. - Diversity and Inclusion
