Eliz Greene is ridiculously excited about stress. She not only finds the chemical reaction in the body caused by stress fascinating, but stress is also her favorite topic to speak about, write about, or discuss in line at the grocery store.
With a surgically repaired heart, Eliz also knows stress management isn’t a ‘nice-to-have,' but rather an essential survival skill. Surviving a heart attack at age 35 while seven months pregnant with twins propelled Eliz on a mission to share her story to inspire other busy people to pay attention to their health.
Just days after her heart stopped and she endured open heart surgery and a cesarean section delivery, Eliz held both her daughters together for the first time. Amazingly, despite the pain and uncertainty, what she felt most strongly was contentment. Her priorities were crystal clear. She knew she’d been given a second chance at life and a unique perspective for a reason.
For nearly two decades, Eliz has been on a mission to inspire busy people to pay attention to their heart health. Recognizing stress as an essential and often under-addressed risk factor,

- Stress-Proof Teams
The contagious nature of stress is hardwired. High performing teams make success contagious too.
Becoming immune to unavoidable stress is a competitive edge that allows Stress-Proof teams to perform under the pressure of change, crisis, and high-stress professions. Caring for children or elders, arguing with a colleague, or having a leaky roof can be stressful but chronic high stress—the kind that kills—is caused by overwhelm and uncertainty.
Wellness expert Eliz Greene delivers surprising insights and innovative, actionable strategies based on her research on job stress in this interactive, fun, and compelling keynote.
This presentation is customized through the Stress Proof Testing Tool which diagnoses the unique set of issues causing stress in the participants’ workplaces and benchmarks the results with other organizations in the study. - Stress-Proof Leadership
Stress management is a HARD SKILL essential to success.
Stress-Proof Leaders leverage this critical skill to propel their own performance and team performance by:
- Creating a culture of value and security to support productivity in high-stress professions, during change, and in crisis.
- Managing contagious stress
- Understanding generational differences in the reaction to overwhelm and uncertainty - Resilience is a Choice: 4 Decisions Essential to Weathering Unrelenting Stress
Based on more than 100 interviews with leaders and team members, Eliz shares insights to weather the stress of crisis and change. She discovered that highly capable people are often unequipped to deal with the stress of an unsolvable situation. For them, the stress of dealing with vulnerability amplifies the stress of crisis and change.
Ultimately, resilience is a choice. We choose to move forward in the face of failure, crisis, tragedy, pain, or life-altering (and business-altering) events we can’t control. Understanding your reaction to vulnerability is essential to becoming resilient.
In this program, Eliz share 4 essential decisions to:
- Deal with the curse of capability
- Get comfortable with the emotional reaction to vulnerability
- Focus on what is possible rather than dwelling on what is difficult
- Strengthen your resilience muscle. - Active Recovery for Unavoidable Stress: High-Performance Under Pressure
Hectic pace, chronic high-stress, uncertainty, and unavoidable negative influences can threaten productivity, creativity, and suck the fun out of even the most enjoyable professions. This program, created specifically for high-performance teams in high pressure occupations as part of Eliz Greene’s work with NASA, encourages active stress recovery similar to active physical recovery used by high-performance athletes.
It includes 5 essential skills to:
- Notice and address symptoms of high stress
